The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Ilqar Alişanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mämmädbağır Talıblı came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC's Hacı Bäkirli. But to his dismay, Hacı Bäkirli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 16th minute Nicat Cäbiyev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mämmädbağır Talıblı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mämmädbağır Talıblı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Häsän Heydärov in the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Baxış Zeynalov managed to get in a good position for a shot. ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baxış Zeynalov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mämmädbağır Talıblı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gence were furious when Mähämmäd Yaqubov was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Gence:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC:s goal. Gence's Mämmädbağır Talıblı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qänbär Babakişiyev in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Faiq Ağacanov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baxış Zeynalov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mämmädbağır Talıblı having to interfere. The supporters of Gence booed when ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Häzän Alişanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mämmädbağır Talıblı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hacı Bäkirli in the 42nd minute of play. Qädir Şükürov hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Räşid Mämmädov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zakir Mämmädov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ilqar Alişanov to make the kick off. When Qädir Şükürov fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gence's protests and gave Qädir Şükürov a yellow card for diving instead. If Qänbär Babakişiyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 57 minutes, Nicat Cäbiyev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicat Cäbiyev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Gence booed when ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hacı Bäkirli didn't get a good kick on the ball. When ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC's Ilqar Alişanov in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mämmädbağır Talıblı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilqar Alişanov in the 82nd minute of the match. Gence's Mämmädbağır Talıblı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilqar Alişanov in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gence's Qädir Şükürov got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 91 minutes Gence's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ilqar Alişanov who took care of the corner kick. When Qänbär Babakişiyev came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the ☾☆ İslambol 1453 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Qänbär Babakişiyev couldn't finish the play. Gence's Mämmädbağır Talıblı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Gence from getting a goal against them.
