When Abşeron's Äli Omarov, in the 5th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Abşeron. After a defensive mix-up in Qubadlı's zone, Natiq Bäyazov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mämmäd Bağirov came out of the goal and Natiq Bäyazov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ilyas Ağamoğlanov during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Abşeron booed when Qubadlı was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilyas Ağamoğlanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natiq Bäyazov in the 15th minute of play forced Qubadlı's goalkeeper Mämmäd Bağirov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Babakişi Ibadov in the 18th minute really tested Rahib Nağiyev's skills. Qubadlı's supporters rose to their feet, but Äläddin Bäşirov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rahib Nağiyev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mämmäd Bağirov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Natiq Bäyazov went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Natiq Bäyazov took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mämmäd Bağirov. Mämmäd Bağirov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natiq Bäyazov in the 30th minute of play forced Qubadlı's goalkeeper Mämmäd Bağirov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Natiq Bäyazov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natiq Bäyazov in the 42nd minute of play forced Qubadlı's goalkeeper Mämmäd Bağirov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Äläddin Bäşirov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Natiq Bäyazov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Abşeron could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Qubadlı throughout the match.
