In the 25th minute, Isfändiyar Şirinov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Shaki's goal looked a bit too open when Äli Omarov came free, but Mehman Bayramov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilkin Imamäliyev might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rahib Nağiyev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ilkin Imamäliyev ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Shaki's goal looked a bit too open when Äli Omarov came free, but Mehman Bayramov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mehman Bayramov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natiq Bäyazov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isfändiyar Şirinov might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rahib Nağiyev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isfändiyar Şirinov ran back to his position shaking his head. Rahib Nağiyev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isfändiyar Şirinov, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Idris Cäfärov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Rahib Nağiyev made a huge save. Ilkin Imamäliyevs short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Rahib Nağiyev to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Shaki booed when Abşeron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Äli Omarov didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Isfändiyar Şirinov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rahib Nağiyev was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Rahib Nağiyev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 95 minutes, Sadiq Bünyatov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shaki and the Abşeron players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Shaki supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shaki would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
