Äfran Daşdıyev came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Zaqatala's Ziräddin Ocaqverdiyev. But to his dismay, Ziräddin Ocaqverdiyev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Toğrul Dünyamaliyev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ziräddin Ocaqverdiyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 89thth minute of the game Toğrul Dünyamaliyev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zärdab Birliyi's Äfran Daşdıyev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zaqatala's Ziräddin Ocaqverdiyev got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Zaqatala's goal looked a bit too open when Qäländar Cumayev came free, but Cavid Çobanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Äfran Daşdıyev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toğrul Dünyamaliyev in the 96th minute of play.
