If Yaqub Odunov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 6 minutes, Asäf Abbasov made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Närimanov IK's Talib Ocaqverdiyev tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Närimanov IK's goal looked a bit too open when Yaqub Odunov came free, but Talib Ocaqverdiyev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Naxçıvan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kämaläddin Bähramov to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Närimanov IK's Fariz Yusubov ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Qänbär Babuşov. Qänbär Babuşov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Fariz Yusubov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ağcabädi Cavanşirov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Qänbär Babuşov having to interfere. Fariz Yusubov spun around in front of the goal 31 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Naxçıvan's goal. Talib Ocaqverdiyev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yaqub Odunov, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Fariz Yusubov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fariz Yusubov to make the kick off. Orxan Eyyubov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Talib Ocaqverdiyev made a huge save. Ağcabädi Cavanşirov struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Qänbär Babuşov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Närimanov IK. Talib Ocaqverdiyev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaqub Odunov in the 56th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Yaqub Odunov took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Talib Ocaqverdiyev to make any attempt to save it. After 62 played minutes Naxçıvan got a freekick which was hit by Orxan Eyyubov. Färman Kazimov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Qänbär Babuşov. Naxçıvan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Asäf Abbasov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Talib Ocaqverdiyev made a huge save. In the 79th minute Ağcabädi Cavanşirov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qänbär Babuşov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Asäf Abbasov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Asäf Abbasov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Talib Ocaqverdiyev. Närimanov IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Asäf Abbasov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Asäf Abbasov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Talib Ocaqverdiyev made a huge save. Färman Kazimov's late challenge caught a Naxçıvan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Färman Kazimov helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Närimanov IK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Naxçıvan:s goal. After 95 minutes, Orxan Eyyubov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naxçıvan and the Närimanov IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Naxçıvan getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Orxan Eyyubov hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Naxçıvan's Säfär Cabbarov got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Naxçıvan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Naxçıvan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
