When Islam Mustafayev came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Städte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Islam Mustafayev couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute, Mabud Abbasov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Şämkir! If Elmäddin Hüseyinzadä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Äliabbas Isayev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yähya Şirinov having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Islam Mustafayev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Şämkir's Yähya Şirinov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Yähya Şirinov successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 27 minutes into the match, Şämkir's goal looked a bit too open when Islam Mustafayev came free, but Yähya Şirinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baba Yusifov charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baba Yusifov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 30 minutes into the game, one of Şämkir:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 32 minutes, Städte's Äkbär Mäcidov got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Yähya Şirinov. After a rather tough play, Şämkir's Mabud Abbasov got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute, Mübariz Äzizbäyli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elmäddin Hüseyinzadä struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Säbuhi Abdasov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Şämkir. 44 minutes into the match, Mübariz Äzizbäyli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Säbuhi Abdasov. Städte's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mübariz Äzizbäyli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Islam Mustafayev was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Ağcabädi Abdürähimov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Şämkir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Städte the free kick. Ağcabädi Abdürähimov hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Äliabbas Isayev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yähya Şirinov was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. If Elmäddin Hüseyinzadä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Städte's goal looked a bit too open when Elmäddin Hüseyinzadä came free, but Säbuhi Abdasov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Mübariz Äzizbäyli got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Elmäddin Hüseyinzadä sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Äliabbas Isayev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yähya Şirinov having to interfere. Ağcabädi Abdürähimov got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Islam Mustafayev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Yähya Şirinov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Islam Mustafayev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yähya Şirinov having to interfere. Äläkbär Salmanov's late challenge caught a Städte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Äläkbär Salmanov helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Şämkir got a freekick which was hit by Äläkbär Salmanov. Islam Mustafayev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yähya Şirinov having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, one of Städte:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mübariz Äzizbäyli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Säbuhi Abdasov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
