The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Khosrow Shahroudi fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorton's protests and gave Khosrow Shahroudi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gorton's Khosrow Shahroudi got a free kick in the 8th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Karim Faryadshiran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arzhang Talebi. Withington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karim Faryadshiran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Khosrow Shahroudi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 16 minutes had been played. After 16 played minutes Gorton got a freekick which was hit by Khosrow Shahroudi. Karim Faryadshiran might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arzhang Talebi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karim Faryadshiran ran back to his position shaking his head. Arzhang Talebi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karim Faryadshiran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, Withington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faramarz Bozorgzadeh to maneuver through the defense. Arzhang Talebi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karim Faryadshiran, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Zakaria Enayati was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Shervin Akbarpour. Navid Heidari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zakaria Enayati having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Kia Sharifinia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Navid Heidari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Zakaria Enayati tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karim Faryadshiran to strike the kick off in the second half. Armin Alavi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zakaria Enayati having to make a save. Armin Alavi succeeded in the game's 58th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. In the 65th match minute, Withington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abou Ali Nateghi to maneuver through the defense. Karim Faryadshiran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Arzhang Talebi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Withington getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Faramarz Bozorgzadeh hit a great ball. If Karim Faryadshiran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karim Faryadshiran took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arzhang Talebi. Arzhang Talebi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Hamid Nekounam kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Armin Alavi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zakaria Enayati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karim Faryadshiran came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arzhang Talebi could save by the left post. The Withington supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gorton's performance. The match ended with a win for Gorton.
