Theo Robson made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Mir Zeeshan sent off a good shot on target. Saad Bhatti struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Theo Robson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cannock City. In the 9thth minute of the game Timothy Challis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cannock City's Hassan Khan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jim Fox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Comberton United booed when Cannock City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Masroor Zardari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hassan Khan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Fox in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Timothy Challis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Comberton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy Challis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hassan Khan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Theo Robson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saad Bhatti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Theo Robson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The goalkeeper, Theo Robson, was totally fooled by Cannock City's Masood Asharf, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Saad Bhatti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Comberton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Slade to maneuver through the defense. Mir Zeeshan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Robson having to interfere. If Mir Zeeshan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Saad Bhatti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timothy Challis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hassan Khan having to interfere. After having played for 44 minutes, Mir Zeeshan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cannock City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mir Zeeshan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Cannock City's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Fox came free, but Hassan Khan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Cannock City's Rahman Afzal suffered a concussion after 51 minutes and had to leave the field. Jack Cook charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jack Cook the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 52 played minutes Comberton United got a freekick which was hit by Jack Cook. Mir Zeeshan hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Comberton United's Theo Robson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sheraz Wahid in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Comberton United's zone, Mir Zeeshan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theo Robson came out of the goal and Mir Zeeshan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Timothy Challis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Slade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hassan Khan came out and tried to block the shot, but Karl Slade slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 72nd minute. In the 75thth minute of the game Mir Zeeshan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Comberton United's Theo Robson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timothy Challis in the 83rd minute of play forced Cannock City's goalkeeper Hassan Khan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theo Robson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mir Zeeshan in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Mir Zeeshan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
