Rafiq Shahid blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trev Radcliffe having to make a save. Ronnie Buckley struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Razi Wahid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kenilworth City. Arshad Shan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trev Radcliffe having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Kenilworth City's goal looked a bit too open when Rafiq Shahid came free, but Trev Radcliffe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Eccles getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Kamil Zohaib hit a great ball. Razi Wahid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Buckley in the 42nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mickey Mason during the 49th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Kenilworth City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Eccles were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronnie Buckley was the one to do the kick off. A very good chance. Kamil Zohaib kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Eccles's Azghar Aamish got a free kick in the 80th minute. Eccles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafiq Shahid was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trev Radcliffe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arshad Shan in the 95th minute of the match. Arshad Shan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trev Radcliffe having to interfere. The Eccles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eccles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
