After having played for 9 minutes, Talib Al Saffar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newbold Verdon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Talib Al Saffar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Faraj Al Harban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sheikh Zayad Road's zone, Belal Al Rodhan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sajid Al Qattan came out of the goal and Belal Al Rodhan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Talib Al Saffar in the 18th minute of play forced Sheikh Zayad Road's goalkeeper Sajid Al Qattan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sajid Al Qattan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belal Al Rodhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Newbold Verdon's Belal Al Rodhan in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Talib Al Saffar to make the kick off. Nabel Al Hadhod kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. When Sheikh Zayad Road's Faraj Al Harban in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Newbold Verdon's Lafi Al Motar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zahid Al Dekhel in the 76th minute of play. Faraj Al Harban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Lafi Al Motar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faraj Al Harban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Newbold Verdon booed when Sheikh Zayad Road was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fahad Al Hadad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Talib Al Saffar struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sajid Al Qattan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newbold Verdon. Sajid Al Qattan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Talib Al Saffar's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Newbold Verdon's goal looked a bit too open when Faraj Al Harban came free, but Lafi Al Motar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Yahya Al Mansor fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sheikh Zayad Road's protests and gave Yahya Al Mansor a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sheikh Zayad Road's Yahya Al Mansor got a free kick in the 95th minute. Sheikh Zayad Road's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
