An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Fahhad Al Sallal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Sayer Al Asuosi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redditch's supporters rose to their feet, but Sayer Al Asuosi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Monther Khorshed breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monther Khorshed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sayer Al Asuosi in the 11th minute of play. Monther Khorshed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sayer Al Asuosi in the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Sherborne AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Qasem Al Shaikh hit a great ball. Sherborne AFC's Monther Khorshed proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Sherborne AFC from getting a goal against them. Monther Khorshed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Redditch's zone, Monther Al Naqi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Qasem Al Mothaf came out of the goal and Monther Al Naqi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sherborne AFC's Fadhel Al Attar suffered a sore thigh after 38 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 38 minutes into the game, Jamal Al Mansor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Redditch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sherborne AFC the free kick. A collision led to Redditch getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Jamal Al Mansor hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
59 minutes into the match, Sherborne AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sayer Al Asuosi came free, but Monther Khorshed reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
