Boris Lugovets's late challenge caught a Sunderland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bingley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergey Venediktov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oleg Knyazevskiy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Veniamin Nikolaev's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Veniamin Nikolaev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Oleg Knyazevskiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oleg Knyazevskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Venediktov, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Emmanuil Sadyrin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Evgeniy Levshin. Emmanuil Sadyrin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Konstantin Kamyshanskiy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Leonid Aidarov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45thth minute of the game Veniamin Nikolaev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sunderland's Oleg Knyazevskiy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emmanuil Sadyrin made a kick off. Oleg Knyazevskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bingley.
