Pierre Medley might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tristan Metcalfe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pierre Medley ran back to his position shaking his head. Tristan Metcalfe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Medley, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Vern Thornton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shireoaks FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vern Thornton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When Toby Basham fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shireoaks FC's protests and gave Toby Basham a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Shireoaks FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Toby Basham hit a great ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Pierre Medley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
