When Donnington AFC's Alex Dixon in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fakenham's goalie prevented a goal. Harry Rusby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugh Hollingsworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Charlie Hird was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alex Dixon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Alex Dixon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Hird having to interfere. Charlie Hird made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Blacksmith in the 18th minute. If Tim Blacksmith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charlie Hird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Dixon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Crispin Lobb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fakenham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Donnington AFC the free kick. Crispin Lobb kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Charlie Hird was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hugh Endean. Tim Blacksmith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Charlie Hird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Russell Bentley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fakenham's supporters rose to their feet, but Russell Bentley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harry Rusby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Dixon made a kick off. Harry Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Hollingsworth in the 52nd minute of the match. Donnington AFC's Harry Rusby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Donnington AFC from getting a goal against them. Benjamin Ellerby charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Ellerby the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Donnington AFC got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Ellerby. 58 minutes into the match, Fakenham's Ralf Gibbons broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Harry Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Hollingsworth in the 60th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Donnington AFC's Alex Dixon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charlie Hird narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 68th minute Alex Dixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Hird saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugh Endean charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugh Endean the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Donnington AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Harry Rusby, was totally fooled by Fakenham's Ralf Gibbons, who 76 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Donald Billing hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute Fakenham were awarded a corner. Ralf Gibbons went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Fakenham's Ralf Gibbons to fire away a dangerous shot which Harry Rusby despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lance Fisher during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, one of Donnington AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Donnington AFC. Charlie Hird showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Blacksmith, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Russell Bentley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle went the supporters of Fakenham were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Donnington AFC side.
