Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Frankie Waddington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Wem's Cliff Patton got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Beckett in the 8th minute of play forced Wem's goalkeeper Frankie Waddington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Great Leighs's Vinnie Hampton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frankie Waddington made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Frankie Waddington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinnie Hampton in the 14th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wem's Geoff Wadham got a free kick in the 15th minute. Vinnie Hampton charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vinnie Hampton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Duncan Rowe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duncan Rowe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Austen Bourton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Wesley Edgson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austen Bourton having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Beckett in the 29th minute of play forced Wem's goalkeeper Frankie Waddington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Duncan Rowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45thth minute of the game Duncan Rowe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Great Leighs's Austen Bourton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Wem players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Great Leighs were winning 0-1.

Frankie Waddington stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vinnie Hampton's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Duncan Rowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 56th minute, Duncan Rowe made a precise shot to the right of Austen Bourton. Great Leighs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 58th minute, Sid Shearer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Glen Beckett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glen Beckett struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Frankie Waddington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Great Leighs. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinnie Hampton in the 68th minute of play forced Wem's goalkeeper Frankie Waddington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley Edgson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Austen Bourton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Vinnie Hampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Leighs's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinnie Hampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frankie Waddington breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wesley Edgson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Austen Bourton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duncan Rowe in the 84th minute of play forced Great Leighs's goalkeeper Austen Bourton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Great Leighs's goal looked a bit too open when Duncan Rowe came free, but Austen Bourton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seth Morcom's late challenge caught a Wem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Seth Morcom helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd minute, one of Great Leighs:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Great Leighs. Glen Beckett's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Frankie Waddington firmly grabbed it by the left post. Wem were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Great Leighs for a fine match.
