After a rather tough play, Bicester's Silvester Chappell got a free kick in the 4th minute. The audience was convinced that Brendon Gardiner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ty Price was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Marty Haley charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 25th minute Brendon Gardiner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ty Price saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes, Bradley Reynolds mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hunstanton City and the Bicester players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andre Watkins struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Ty Price didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bicester. 35 minutes into the game, Bicester's Brendon Gardiner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ty Price made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Brendon Gardiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ty Price having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Silvester Chappell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bicester's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvester Chappell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ty Price breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvester Chappell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvester Chappell struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Ty Price didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bicester. After the first half Bicester were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
