Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jordan Henwood started the match with the kick off. Charlie Probert kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Jordan Henwood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kris Kirkpatrick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Bob Couzens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Archie Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 23 minutes, Jordan Henwood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Romney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jordan Henwood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Charlie Probert got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the game, Jeremy Shipton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liskeard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Romney the free kick. The supporters of New Romney booed when Liskeard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremy Shipton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Charlie Probert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Romney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charlie Probert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Liskeard booed when New Romney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Reed didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Goodwin took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Archie Johnson. Archie Johnson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Bob Couzens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Archie Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bob Couzens to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, New Romney's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Couzens came free, but Archie Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Archie Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Couzens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Kirkpatrick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jordan Henwood's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Jonny Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Albert Goodwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Liskeard booed when New Romney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Saville didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Bob Couzens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liskeard's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob Couzens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Archie Johnson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albert Goodwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Archie Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kasey Reed fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Romney's protests and gave Kasey Reed a yellow card for diving instead. When Bob Couzens came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Liskeard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Couzens couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, New Romney's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Couzens came free, but Archie Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Albert Goodwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91stth minute of the game Bob Couzens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Romney's Archie Johnson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Crispin Hodgson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liskeard played a much better game than New Romney and deserved their victory. The New Romney players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
