After 15 played minutes, Withington City's Dandasri Bhosale shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Avadha Ghosh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Withington City reached it. Sonny Paranjpe kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aradhaka Sarang in the 28th minute of play forced Newnham's goalkeeper Avadha Ghosh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Avadha Ghosh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ajyapa Vishwakarma in the 32nd minute. In the 46th minute, Aradhaka Sarang fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Avadha Ghosh, passed just outside the right post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Balachandra Kals to make the kick off. A collision led to Newnham getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Guntas Kals could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Bommareddy Khatri made a huge save. Bommareddy Khatri made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Guntas Kals sent off a good shot on target. Aradhaka Sarang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
