Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vishnu Deol started the match with the kick off. Aroga Grewal hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Vishnu Deol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ajalika Linyu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vishnu Deol in the 12th minute of play forced New York United's goalkeeper Ajalika Linyu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New York United's Avanipala Bal got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Kushwah More managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York United's supporters rose to their feet, but Kushwah More was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajib Sailo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rajib Sailo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avanipala Bal in the 18th minute of play. After 18 minutes of play, New York United's Avanipala Bal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rajib Sailo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ajalika Linyu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vishnu Deol showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. New York United's Ajalika Linyu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save New York United from getting a goal against them. When Raghuvir Vurghese fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bristol Kingswood's protests and gave Raghuvir Vurghese a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bristol Kingswood's Raghuvir Vurghese got a free kick in the 28th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Kushwah More had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rajib Sailo. Bristol Kingswood's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kushwah More was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ajalika Linyu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vishnu Deol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Kalyanavata Datta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute, Atima Kumar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Avijna Bagha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th match minute, New York United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalyanavata Datta to maneuver through the defense. Ajalika Linyu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Avijna Bagha in the 49th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Avanipala Bal to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kushwah More got free with Rajib Sailo in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vishnu Deol in the 60th minute of play forced New York United's goalkeeper Ajalika Linyu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in New York United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Bristol Kingswood a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rajeswara Moktan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of New York United's Ajalika Linyu. 3-2. Ajalika Linyu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vishnu Deol, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Avijna Bagha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ajalika Linyu having to interfere. Bristol Kingswood's Vishnu Deol got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ajalika Linyu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avijna Bagha in the 85th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Avijna Bagha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bjupinder Shrivastav's late challenge caught a Bristol Kingswood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for New York United.
