In the 2nd minute, Madhav Baweja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mohanbir Bhave's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antariksa Sethi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th match minute, Freshwater United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atala Bagha to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Bermondsey's Harbajan Bahia fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Harbajan Bahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Antariksa Sethi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harbajan Bahia spun around in front of the goal 11 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Freshwater United's goal. Jagannath Irani stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abhasa Virdee's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Freshwater United's goalkeeper Antariksa Sethi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mohanbir Bhave fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antariksa Sethi having to interfere. Mohanbir Bhave could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Antariksa Sethi made a huge save. Jagannath Irani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rama Mohan in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Rama Mohan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jagannath Irani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bhuvanapati Mattu fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bermondsey's protests and gave Bhuvanapati Mattu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Freshwater United booed when Bermondsey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bhuvanapati Mattu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match Candradatta Basra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jagannath Irani skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Mohanbir Bhave managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bermondsey's supporters rose to their feet, but Mohanbir Bhave was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antariksa Sethi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Harbajan Bahia got free with Antariksa Sethi in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Harbajan Bahia made the kick off in the second half. Antariksa Sethi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harbajan Bahia, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Bermondsey's Mohanbir Bhave got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mohanbir Bhave received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Antariksa Sethi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Harbajan Bahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harbajan Bahia's late challenge caught a Freshwater United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harbajan Bahia helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Freshwater United booed when Bermondsey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harbajan Bahia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jagannath Irani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rama Mohan in the 82nd minute of the match. Harbajan Bahia hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Laloo Sabdhu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Freshwater United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
