Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Janardhana Pannu started the match with the kick off. Jayanth Sehgal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abhishek Kapur in the 4th minute of the match. Sudhir Lianzuala took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Babulal Bhatia. AS GUWAHATI's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Babulal Bhatia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Janardhana Pannu, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Asuga Khalsa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Babulal Bhatia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abhishek Kapur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jayanth Sehgal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the South Woodford defense, Abhishek Kapur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jayanth Sehgal. The South Woodford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jayanth Sehgal should have stopped the shot. Abhishek Kapur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Asuga Khalsa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Babulal Bhatia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half AS GUWAHATI were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Babulal Bhatia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Asuga Khalsa's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Asuga Khalsa in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Babulal Bhatia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Asuga Khalsa put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Babulal Bhatia. After having played for 64 minutes, Abhishek Kapur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GUWAHATI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abhishek Kapur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jayanth Sehgal came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by AS GUWAHATI's Abhishek Kapur. But to his dismay, Abhishek Kapur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Abhishek Kapur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 72 minutes, Prafel Yeddyurappa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GUWAHATI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prafel Yeddyurappa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute Asuga Khalsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Babulal Bhatia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Sudhir Lianzuala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, AS GUWAHATI's Apiguna Thind tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of AS GUWAHATI booed when South Woodford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nardev Ayer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, South Woodford's goal looked a bit too open when Prafel Yeddyurappa came free, but Jayanth Sehgal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Babulal Bhatia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asuga Khalsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When Janardhana Pannu came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the South Woodford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Janardhana Pannu couldn't finish the play. Abhishek Kapur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
