Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Amod Kulkarni got the match started through his kick off. After 9 minutes of play, Epsom's Amod Kulkarni made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baladhara Khatri was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute Amod Kulkarni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baladhara Khatri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baladhara Khatri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amod Kulkarni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mani Sawhney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gharcheen Dubey having to make a save. If Aryasura Shergill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mani Sawhney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gharcheen Dubey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amanda Banerjee in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Balram Verma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Epsom getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Aryasura Shergill hit a great ball. Aryasura Shergill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Baladhara Khatri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mani Sawhney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gharcheen Dubey having to interfere. Gharcheen Dubey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amanda Banerjee, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Mani Sawhney might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gharcheen Dubey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mani Sawhney ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Epsom's goalkeeper Gharcheen Dubey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
Gharcheen Dubey made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Mani Sawhney sent off a good shot on target. Avebury's Baladhara Khatri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nardev Salve in the 65th minute of play. After 66 minutes Avebury's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Devanirmita Bawa who took care of the corner kick. Devanirmita Bawa made a great header on Epsom's corner, it was just that Avebury's Baladhara Khatri managed to reach the ball for a save. 2-0 became the score in the 68th minute when Amod Kulkarni elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Amanda Banerjee came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Avebury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amanda Banerjee couldn't finish the play. If Amanda Banerjee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Epsom's Gharcheen Dubey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amanda Banerjee in the 81st minute of play. Aryasura Shergill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baladhara Khatri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Nardev Salve's late challenge caught a Avebury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nardev Salve helped the player get up and apologised. Nardev Salve hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Balram Verma kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. If Mani Sawhney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Amod Kulkarni fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Epsom's protests and gave Amod Kulkarni a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Avebury booed when Epsom was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amod Kulkarni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Avebury's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Avebury may have spent more time on the ball, but Epsom were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
