Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ambava Kelkar kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Gandhesa Sen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimsby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gandhesa Sen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Annadeva Shankar might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adarsh Kaila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Annadeva Shankar ran back to his position shaking his head. Ambava Kelkar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kishan Tiwari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambava Kelkar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kishan Tiwari made an important save on a dangerous shot by Buddhiraja Kapur in the 12th minute. Grimsby's Annadeva Shankar got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adarsh Kaila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinayak Dias in the 21st minute of play. Vinayak Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Adarsh Kaila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Istaka Iyer fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandbach City's protests and gave Istaka Iyer a yellow card for diving instead. Istaka Iyer kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Buddhiraja Kapur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandbach City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Buddhiraja Kapur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Buddhiraja Kapur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinayak Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Adarsh Kaila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Grimsby booed when Sandbach City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Susheel Randhawa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Surinder Chaudhary hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ranjith Ojha charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ranjith Ojha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, one of Grimsby:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Grimsby. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Sandbach City. Amarasinha Kamle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kishan Tiwari. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vinayak Dias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Annadeva Shankar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Adarsh Kaila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vinayak Dias in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adarsh Kaila saved Sandbach City from getting behind. If Buddhiraja Kapur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kishan Tiwari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ambava Kelkar, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Sandbach City's Buddhiraja Kapur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kishan Tiwari narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Buddhiraja Kapur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kishan Tiwari having to interfere. Sandbach City's Adarsh Kaila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sandbach City from getting a goal against them. If Ambava Kelkar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Vinayak Dias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, Sandbach City's Susheel Randhawa got a free kick in the 85th minute. Grimsby's Vinayak Dias managed to work through Sandbach City's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Vinayak Dias dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Buddhiraja Kapur kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Sandbach City's Adarsh Kaila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Sandbach City from getting a goal against them. Sandbach City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Grimsby for a fine match.
