When Asvamedhadatta Bansal fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beeston's protests and gave Asvamedhadatta Bansal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Asvamedhadatta Bansal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Southampton's Ehsan Deshmukh broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Aneel Patil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarda Kohli having to interfere. Ajalika Mohan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sudhir Sehgal, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mahinder Naik in the 16th minute of play forced Beeston's goalkeeper Ajalika Mohan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Satish Pandey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Satish Pandey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Sarda Kohli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sarda Kohli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Satish Pandey in the 25th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Kanakraj Ngullie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aneel Patil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sarda Kohli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Satish Pandey in the 29th minute of the match. When Sudhir Sehgal came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Southampton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sudhir Sehgal couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, Southampton's goalkeeper Sarda Kohli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aneel Patil. Aneel Patil's late challenge caught a Southampton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aneel Patil helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Beeston getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Aneel Patil hit a great ball. Sudhir Sehgal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ajalika Mohan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Beeston got a freekick which was hit by Satish Pandey. In the 44th minute, Southampton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aneel Patil fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 45th minute Satish Pandey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarda Kohli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Aneel Patil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beeston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aneel Patil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Satish Pandey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sarda Kohli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aneel Patil, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Harmandar Sahu hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Sudhir Sehgal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Mahinder Naik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sudhir Sehgal struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ajalika Mohan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southampton. Satish Pandey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Southampton getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Harmandar Sahu hit a great ball. Sarda Kohli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Satish Pandey's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Mahinder Naik in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ajalika Mohan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Southampton's Sarda Kohli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aneel Patil in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Kanakraj Ngullie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Southampton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beeston the free kick. Kanakraj Ngullie kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 93 minutes of play, Beeston's Aneel Patil made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sarda Kohli was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Southampton players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Beeston.
