Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Debasis Vishwakarma kicked off to start the match. Jangjeet Nahal struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Maheshwari Das didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gedling. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Indumukhi Agroia during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With his leg Maheshwari Das managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Gedling's Khalsa Jain fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Maheshwari Das made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jangjeet Nahal in the 15th minute of play. The Downton fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Downton's Debasis Vishwakarma looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 24 minutes into the match, Gedling's goal looked a bit too open when Anjasa Mittal came free, but Arvindra Dalel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Downton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Akalbir Dasgupta to maneuver through the defense. Downton's Maheshwari Das played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jangjeet Nahal in the 27th minute of play. Indumukhi Agroia hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Khalsa Jain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gedling's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khalsa Jain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Gedling's Asvaghosa Moktan got a free kick in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Khalsa Jain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gedling's supporters rose to their feet, but Khalsa Jain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maheshwari Das breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 2-1 became the score in the 47th minute when Jangjeet Nahal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jangjeet Nahal was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Anuvitta Bansal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gedling's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Downton the free kick. Anuvitta Bansal hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Idhma Subba got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arvindra Dalel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes into the match, Gedling's goalkeeper Arvindra Dalel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anjasa Mittal. With his leg Arvindra Dalel managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Downton's Anjasa Mittal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Debasis Vishwakarma was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Downton's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Anjasa Mittal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 75 minutes on the clock, Bhattara Lally commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 74th minute, one of Gedling:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gedling. The referee gave Downton a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Amisa Varma, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gedling's Arvindra Dalel. 2-2. In the 84th of the match, Debasis Vishwakarma tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Arvindra Dalel got in the way and made a wonderful save. Debasis Vishwakarma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvindra Dalel having to interfere. If Khalsa Jain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st match minute, Downton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Indumukhi Agroia to maneuver through the defense. 100 minutes into the match, Anjasa Mittal notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Gedling's Arvindra Dalel. Arvindra Dalel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Downton's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
