In the 21st match minute, Tynemouth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vikas Batra to maneuver through the defense. Khalsa Jain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Asvaghosa Moktan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Vikas Batra a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Vikas Batra kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tynemouth's goalkeeper Ganesan Manjrekar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ganesan Manjrekar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khalsa Jain in the 42nd minute of the match. If Gurmukh Dale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gurmukh Dale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvindra Dalel having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jangjeet Nahal made a kick off. Jangjeet Nahal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
