The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abhiraksita Samran hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Ashford FC's Jasalina Gurai threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amanath Phom, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 17 minutes into the match, Peterlee's goal looked a bit too open when Ditaujas Badyal came free, but Jasalina Gurai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jasalina Gurai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amanath Phom in the 34th minute of the match. Jasalina Gurai came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Ashford FC's Ditaujas Badyal. But to his dismay, Ditaujas Badyal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Aparajisnu Chattophadhyay came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Peterlee fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aparajisnu Chattophadhyay couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Rajinderpal Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aparajisnu Chattophadhyay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Anandasagara Kooner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Vinay Barn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ashford FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peterlee the free kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amanath Phom made a kick off. Peterlee's Astaratha Bisla got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 55 minutes, Ekayavan Khattqr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peterlee and the Ashford FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ashford FC booed when Peterlee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ekayavan Khattqr didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, one of Ashford FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ashford FC. If Astaratha Bisla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
