Tajender Malhi was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Sitaram Nagra put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Anandasagara Kooner. The supporters of Saltash booed when Ashford FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abhiraksita Samran didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Arunsu Vaidya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saltash's supporters rose to their feet, but Arunsu Vaidya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anandasagara Kooner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Indrasana Ramesh fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saltash's protests and gave Indrasana Ramesh a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Indrasana Ramesh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ditaujas Badyal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute Amanath Phom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tajender Malhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A well placed Amanath Phom short distance shot in the 43rd minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amanath Phom was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Hansakaya Bhuppal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anandasagara Kooner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sitaram Nagra was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 57 minutes in the game, Sitaram Nagra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Anandasagara Kooner having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sitaram Nagra during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ditaujas Badyal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tajender Malhi having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ashford FC's Milkesh Chettri got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Tajender Malhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ditaujas Badyal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Ashford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sitaram Nagra came free, but Anandasagara Kooner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Amanath Phom made a precise shot to the right of Tajender Malhi. Saltash's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Tajender Malhi came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Ashford FC's Milkesh Chettri. But to his dismay, Milkesh Chettri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ashford FC had won after a very even match.
