Sommai Phongsai might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boonwong Thanateerasud. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sommai Phongsai ran back to his position shaking his head. Wattapong Yoadying made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kometh Thongjib in the 34th minute. Sommai Phongsai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sommai Phongsai came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ban Long Kha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sommai Phongsai couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Kometh Thongjib's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wattapong Yoadying read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 94th minute Sarote Sawathirunkul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boonwong Thanateerasud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
