The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 9 minutes, Bagol Pradhana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSM Tjangkrep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bagol Pradhana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adityo Kalangi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anan Laksana in the 15th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Sansan Sutanto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adityo Kalangi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Bagol Pradhana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSM Tjangkrep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bagol Pradhana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sansan Sutanto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Anan Laksana managed to get in a good position for a shot. PS Sampoengoe's supporters rose to their feet, but Anan Laksana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adityo Kalangi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PSM Tjangkrep's Adityo Kalangi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sansan Sutanto in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Farhan Sutisna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PSM Tjangkrep's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PS Sampoengoe the free kick. In the 38th match minute, PSM Tjangkrep was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Farhan Sutisna to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, PSM Tjangkrep's goal looked a bit too open when Anan Laksana came free, but Adityo Kalangi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anan Laksana in the 42nd minute of play forced PSM Tjangkrep's goalkeeper Adityo Kalangi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anan Laksana was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind PSM Tjangkrep's goalkeeper Adityo Kalangi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Anan Laksana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PSM Tjangkrep's Bagol Pradhana got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Parto Haruman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PSM Tjangkrep! Ilham Garnita came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Adityo Kalangi could save by the left post. Sansan Sutanto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adityo Kalangi having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Parto Haruman made a precise shot to the right of Ading Sulistianto. PS Sampoengoe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Parto Haruman came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the PSM Tjangkrep fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Parto Haruman couldn't finish the play. Ading Sulistianto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Parto Haruman in the 94th minute of play.
