Panyabungan's supporters rose to their feet, but Omo Wattimury was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Djaduk Heryuwono breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bento Karaeng kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Rangga Isdiantono mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PS Jerusu and the Panyabungan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Panyabungan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PS Jerusu the free kick. After a rather tough play, Panyabungan's Bertha Mudaffar got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Panyabungan's goal looked a bit too open when Kahar Suhastra came free, but Jimmy Wibowo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omo Wattimury in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Djaduk Heryuwono prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Panyabungan's Iram Fachrezi in 24 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Djaduk Heryuwono guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Kahar Suhastra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Wibowo having to interfere. PS Jerusu's Mahyadi Ekayana suffered a sore thigh after 30 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Arbud Santika hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Omo Wattimury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Djaduk Heryuwono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omo Wattimury in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Omo Wattimury might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Djaduk Heryuwono. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Omo Wattimury ran back to his position shaking his head. Jimmy Wibowo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Karaeng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind PS Jerusu's goalkeeper Djaduk Heryuwono, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Omo Wattimury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Fauzi Dharmasakti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Panyabungan's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Karaeng came free, but Jimmy Wibowo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rexy Tomagola charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rexy Tomagola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rexy Tomagola hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Primus Pradhana came free in the 81st minute and tried to tip the ball over Jimmy Wibowo, but to the joy of Panyabungan's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. If Bento Karaeng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of PS Jerusu booed when Panyabungan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fauzi Dharmasakti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Djaduk Heryuwono made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omo Wattimury in the 89th minute. When Omo Wattimury came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Panyabungan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omo Wattimury couldn't finish the play.
