The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the game, Gogon Sitepu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bumlayu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Putra Sibangun the free kick. Ruben Razak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Bertha Waluyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ruben Razak came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Bumlayu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Razak couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Rolly Hamid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertha Waluyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bumlayu FC's Adjat Patha got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Dian Ristiwan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Putra Sibangun's supporters rose to their feet, but Dian Ristiwan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Suryo Suryono breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Suryo Suryono took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dian Ristiwan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sentot Al-Faruqi in the 31st minute of play forced Bumlayu FC's goalkeeper Suryo Suryono to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruben Razak got free with Bertha Waluyo in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Musa Sumadipraja hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Musa Sumadipraja's late challenge caught a Bumlayu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Musa Sumadipraja helped the player get up and apologised. Musa Sumadipraja kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Putra Sibangun's Sentot Al-Faruqi got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dian Ristiwan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sentot Al-Faruqi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd minute, Ronald Syarifudin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dian Ristiwan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anton Khaidir kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Putra Sibangun's Musa Sumadipraja got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Putra Sibangun's zone, Rolly Hamid stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertha Waluyo came out of the goal and Rolly Hamid tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, Putra Sibangun's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Razak came free, but Bertha Waluyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Dian Ristiwan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Bumlayu FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Cornel Darusman hit a great ball. If Dian Ristiwan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Putra Sibangun's zone, Rolly Hamid stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bertha Waluyo came out of the goal and Rolly Hamid tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Suryo Suryono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dian Ristiwan in the 90th minute of play. Suryo Suryono showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dian Ristiwan, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Rolly Hamid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ruben Razak took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bertha Waluyo. Bertha Waluyo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Bumlayu FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
