Odod Simpatiaji fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aples Putra having to interfere. In the 48th minute Odod Simpatiaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aples Putra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The tension between the PSM Mendut and the PSM Tentena players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of PSM Mendut:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PSM Tentena:s goal. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for PSM Tentena. Dwi Lubis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mansyur Yuwono. 3-0. In the 69th minute, Eka Idris made a precise shot to the right of Aples Putra. PSM Tentena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Eka Idris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Aples Putra made a huge save. John Ristiwan hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match.
