The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Munawir Pramana hit a great ball. When Paulo Caetano came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the SEBIDUK SEMARE FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Caetano couldn't finish the play. If Sahat Kertaradjasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sahat Kertaradjasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Aples Wattimena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Aples Wattimena managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when azulgranat FC's Sahat Kertaradjasa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, SEBIDUK SEMARE FC's Imral Sudarno got a free kick in the 29th minute. Paulo Caetano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Tarsan Rinaldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SEBIDUK SEMARE FC. After having played for 39 minutes, Paulo Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SEBIDUK SEMARE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Caetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sahat Kertaradjasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Aples Wattimena made a huge save. After 46 played minutes SEBIDUK SEMARE FC got a freekick which was hit by Tarsan Manuputty. Aples Wattimena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sahat Kertaradjasa in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Caetano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tarsan Manuputty got free with Tarsan Rinaldi in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Paulo Caetano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tarsan Rinaldi. Paulo Caetano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Paulo Caetano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Paulo Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarsan Rinaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Kartolo in the 67th minute of play. Paulo Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarsan Rinaldi having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Syamsir Pandelaki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Sahat Kertaradjasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aples Wattimena was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 79th minute, Syamsir Pandelaki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sahat Kertaradjasa in the 97th minute of play forced SEBIDUK SEMARE FC's goalkeeper Aples Wattimena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SEBIDUK SEMARE FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
