When Boaz Handoko came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the PSP Maquedade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boaz Handoko couldn't finish the play. Boaz Handoko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jajat Da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wawan Sastranegara in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PSM Wakol's zone, Tino Sanusi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jajat Da Costa came out of the goal and Tino Sanusi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rolly Sonjaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Eros Setiadi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Deka Piyoh was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. The PSM Wakol players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
