After 6 played minutes, PSS Piono's Stefan Sentanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Noce Lengkong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PSS Piono reached it. Satria Iskandardinata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Krisna Hendrawan came out and tried to block the shot, but Satria Iskandardinata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. After some careless play in the PSS Piono defense, Lamhot Sutha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Krisna Hendrawan. The PSS Piono fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Krisna Hendrawan should have stopped the shot. If Didiet Prastika had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, PSM Sipring's Sentot Darodjatun got a free kick in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After having played for 55 minutes, Didiet Prastika managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSS Piono's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didiet Prastika was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Darto Mandaga came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the PSS Piono fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darto Mandaga couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind PSM Sipring's goalkeeper Noce Lengkong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Darto Mandaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th match minute, PSM Sipring was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamhot Sutha to maneuver through the defense.
