The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Makbul Soeharto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hardimen Wattimury. Tjotpie FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Unno Barenz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Oon Nurseha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hardimen Wattimury didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ikhsan Iskandar went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Moearatewe FC's Ebieth Mulia got control of the ball when Unno Barenz tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Oon Nurseha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Erwin Hatala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unno Barenz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Ebieth Mulia made a huge save. The supporters of Tjotpie FC booed when Moearatewe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwin Hatala didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Tjotpie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Unno Barenz to maneuver through the defense. Hardimen Wattimury took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dian Pattimura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Moearatewe FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Rama Moerdani hit a great ball. In the 31stth minute of the game Oon Nurseha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moearatewe FC's Ebieth Mulia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Tjotpie FC booed when Moearatewe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sukma Siahaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tjotpie FC's Hardimen Wattimury played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sukma Siahaan in the 39th minute of play. Hardimen Wattimury made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dian Pattimura in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dian Pattimura made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Moearatewe FC's Makbul Soeharto got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Sigit Aryanto, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ikhsan Iskandar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Hardimen Wattimury made a huge save. Dian Pattimura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ikhsan Iskandar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Hardimen Wattimury tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moearatewe FC's Ikhsan Iskandar got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Moearatewe FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
