Willy Wahono, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Trisna Kustiana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nono Sulistianto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muchsin Mamahit in the 25th minute of play. Nono Sulistianto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hendro Sitepu in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PSM Ngaras's zone, Hendro Sitepu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nono Sulistianto came out of the goal and Hendro Sitepu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Trisna Kustiana came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the PSM Ngaras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trisna Kustiana couldn't finish the play. In the 40th match minute, Pontijanak was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dwi Anggadiredja to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dwi Anggadiredja stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind PSM Ngaras's goalkeeper Nono Sulistianto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, PSM Ngaras's Ricardo Salampessy got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Pance Tomagola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sobur Anhar, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 68th minute Dwi Anggadiredja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nono Sulistianto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendro Sitepu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nono Sulistianto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hendro Sitepu in the 73rd minute. Sobur Anhar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Hendro Sitepu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontijanak's supporters rose to their feet, but Hendro Sitepu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nono Sulistianto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PSM Ngaras's Nono Sulistianto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dwi Anggadiredja in the 81st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ponaryo Abidin during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to PSM Ngaras getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ponaryo Abidin hit a great ball. 83 minutes into the game, Hendro Sitepu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nono Sulistianto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Trisna Kustiana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pance Tomagola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Muchsin Mamahit during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pontijanak's Muchsin Mamahit got a free kick in the 91st minute. Trisna Kustiana took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pance Tomagola. Pance Tomagola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 95 played minutes Pontijanak got a freekick which was hit by Jockie Noya. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
