A collision led to Gares getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Erwin Kuswanto hit a great ball. Gares's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Yudho Tampubolon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Welly Wiranatakusumah in the 5th minute of the match. In the 7th match minute, Gares was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jayeng Andreas to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Wempy Lestaluhu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yudho Tampubolon skillfully saved the ball. Welly Wiranatakusumah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th match minute, Gares was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmy Soeharto to maneuver through the defense. Welly Wiranatakusumah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yudho Tampubolon having to make a save. Herman Burnama fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Maranatha having to interfere. Raka Eiboy lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 27 minutes, Gares's Mansyur Hidayat got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Emmanuel Maranatha. If Mathias Sihotang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Sihotang struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Emmanuel Maranatha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gares. The supporters of Gares booed when Tjitra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Juandi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Sihotang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Maranatha having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Emmanuel Maranatha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jayeng Andreas, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Herman Burnama had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herman Burnama in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emmanuel Maranatha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 63 played minutes Tjitra FC got a freekick which was hit by Rasyid Sulaiman. In the 65th minute Mathias Sihotang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emmanuel Maranatha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Welly Wiranatakusumah got free with Yudho Tampubolon in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Tjitra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Sihotang came free, but Emmanuel Maranatha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Welly Wiranatakusumah got free with Yudho Tampubolon in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
