The referee showed Salim Kusnadi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Salim Kusnadi hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Koetaboelok's Bima Pandiangan got a free kick in the 25th minute. Haddad Ie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ferdy Moerdani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Togar Sangaji managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mensalong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Togar Sangaji was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdy Moerdani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Togar Sangaji, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haddad Ie struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Ferdy Moerdani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mensalong. Indro Nababan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ichwan Simpatiaji, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ichwan Simpatiaji stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Koetaboelok's Ichwan Simpatiaji was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Mensalong's goalkeeper Indro Nababan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adjat Mahmudi. Bento Pitono kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Ichwan Simpatiaji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Indro Nababan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mensalong's Salim Kusnadi got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Salim Kusnadi off the ground. After 65 played minutes Mensalong got a freekick which was hit by Salim Kusnadi. The crowd rose to their feet as Ichwan Simpatiaji kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Indro Nababan. That made the score 0-2 in the 68 minute of play. Indro Nababan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ichwan Simpatiaji in the 72nd minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Mensalong's goal looked a bit too open when Ichwan Simpatiaji came free, but Indro Nababan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ichwan Simpatiaji in the 78th minute of play forced Mensalong's goalkeeper Indro Nababan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Mensalong's goal looked a bit too open when Ichwan Simpatiaji came free, but Indro Nababan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Indro Nababan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ichwan Simpatiaji in the 89th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Koetaboelok had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
