After 4 played minutes, PSM Karangan's Coky Sahilatua shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gandung Siahaan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PSM Karangan reached it. Tjidjeroek FC's Gandung Siahaan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by I Made Manurung in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, I Made Manurung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers I Putu Zulfan in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rizal Subagio saved PSM Karangan from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, I Made Manurung managed to get in a good position for a shot. PSM Karangan's supporters rose to their feet, but I Made Manurung was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gandung Siahaan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th match minute, Tjidjeroek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sapardi Waskito to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, PSM Karangan's Alif Darwis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hadi Priatna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute Hadi Priatna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gandung Siahaan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When I Putu Zulfan came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Tjidjeroek FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that I Putu Zulfan couldn't finish the play. After 38 played minutes PSM Karangan got a freekick which was hit by Usman Wijaya. Gandung Siahaan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Syaiful Rinaldi in the 41st minute of the match. Hadi Priatna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gandung Siahaan having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by I Made Manurung in the 58th minute of play forced Tjidjeroek FC's goalkeeper Gandung Siahaan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hadi Priatna came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the PSM Karangan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hadi Priatna couldn't finish the play. Khalis Djauhari kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hadi Priatna got free with Gandung Siahaan in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hadi Priatna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gandung Siahaan having to interfere. I Putu Zulfan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Hadi Priatna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rizal Subagio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tjidjeroek FC. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, I Made Manurung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Tjidjeroek FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
