When Cornelius Supendi came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Soepai FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelius Supendi couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Soepai FC booed when Putra Sajoan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Surbakti didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes, Soepai FC's Ade Sinuraya shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kasino Waringin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Soepai FC reached it. If Eep Ohorella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kasino Waringin was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Cornelius Supendi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cornelius Supendi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Yayat Tarusbawa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
