In the 3rd match minute, Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Hoang to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Tuan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dương Tho charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dương Tho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Dương Tho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Nam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huỳnh Bay in the 7th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Phan Thiet's Phan Tran got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Huỳnh Bay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Nam. Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Huỳnh Bay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nguyễn Nam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huỳnh Bay in the 18th minute of the match. Liễu Hoa took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Nam. Nguyễn Nam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Nguyễn Hoang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barcelona's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Hoang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Tuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 26th minute of play forced Barcelona's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Trần Ritchell reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trần Tuan. The goal made the score 1-2. Nguyễn Nam scored 1-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Nam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Huỳnh Bay came free, but Nguyễn Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcelona's Nguyễn Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liễu Hoa in the 40th minute of play. Nguyễn Nam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liễu Hoa went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
Trần Hong struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Trần Tuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona. Trần Tuan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Ritchell's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Phan Thiet's Nguyễn Nam dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Barcelona's Nguyễn Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huỳnh Bay in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Barcelona's Nguyễn Nam got control of the ball when Nguyễn Nam tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute, Trần Hong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Liễu Hoa came free, but Nguyễn Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcelona's Trần Ritchell got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Phan Thiet walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
