A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lê Thuyet to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Hieu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Thuyet in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Đồng Nai's Lê Thuyet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Hieu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Phùng Hong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lê Thuyet in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Hieu saved Nam Dinh from getting behind. Đinh Van Quyen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Hanh hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Nam Dinh's Huỳnh Khoi got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Nam Dinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Khoi to maneuver through the defense. After 82 played minutes, Đồng Nai's Nguyễn Phuoc shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nguyễn Hieu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Đinh Van Quyen ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Đồng Nai fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nam Dinh had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
