Võ Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Dinh's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 19th match minute, TyKaSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tấn Dũng to maneuver through the defense. When Vương Anh Hung came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Dien Bien Phu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vương Anh Hung couldn't finish the play. Trần Thi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Võ Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Thi might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Võ Hung. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Thi ran back to his position shaking his head. Võ Hung made an important save on a dangerous shot by Trần Thi in the 29th minute. TyKaSS's Võ Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Dinh in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Nguyễn Dinh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TyKaSS's Võ Hung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes in the game, Trần Thi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Võ Hung having to interfere. Đặng Viet's late challenge caught a Dien Bien Phu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đặng Viet helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, Đặng Viet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TyKaSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dien Bien Phu the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in TyKaSS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Dien Bien Phu's Vương Anh Hung got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Võ Hung. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Đặng Viet to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes TyKaSS got a freekick which was hit by Đặng Viet. Nguyễn Dinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Hung having to interfere. Nguyễn Nhật Minh took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Võ Hung. Võ Hung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Nguyễn Dinh might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Võ Hung. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Dinh ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Trần Thi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Võ Hung was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Nguyễn Dinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Võ Hung having to interfere. After 69 minutes, Phan Van Quyen made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. TyKaSS's Võ Hung tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Võ Hung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Dinh in the 73rd minute of the match. 6-0 became the score in the 79th minute when Nguyễn Dinh elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Võ Hung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Dinh went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. 86 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Dinh notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of TyKaSS's Võ Hung. Võ Hung was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phan Van Quyen in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Võ Hung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute Trần Thi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nguyễn Dinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Dien Bien Phu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
