Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) A collision led to Hai Phong getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Huỳnh Huy hit a great ball. Hai Phong's Đặng Tho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Nguyễn Minh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ha Tay's goalkeeper La Tuan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nguyễn Thuy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. La Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đặng Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 15th minute of the match. Hai Phong's Nguyễn Thuy got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Thuy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. La Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Nguyễn Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but La Tuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Thuy in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck La Tuan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Ho kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. La Tuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Thuy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Ha Tay defense, Nguyễn Minh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of La Tuan. The Ha Tay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that La Tuan should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Ha Tay's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Minh came free, but La Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Hai Phong:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ha Tay:s goal. Lê Duong walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Lê Than struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Đặng Tho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ha Tay.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Hieu Ngan made a kick off. In the 56th match minute, Ha Tay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Pham to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Hieu hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ha Tay booed when Hai Phong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Văn Tho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Lê Than had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Đặng Tho. Hai Phong's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lê Than was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, Ha Tay's goalkeeper La Tuan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Thuy. La Tuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 86th minute Nguyễn Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but La Tuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lê Tran kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
