When Lê Tan fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hai Phong's protests and gave Lê Tan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Hai Phong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Tan to maneuver through the defense. Đặng Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Thai in the 26th minute of the match. Hai Phong's Đặng Tho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Duy in the 27th minute of play. Hai Phong's attack was well implemented in the 80th minute, but when Nguyễn Minh was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Nguyễn Thuy struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Nguyễn Loc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hai Phong. After 83 played minutes Bu Dop got a freekick which was hit by Trần Minh. If Trần Hieu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nguyễn Thuy took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Loc. Nguyễn Loc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Nguyễn Thuy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Hai Phong getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Phan Binh hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bu Dop had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
