After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Dương Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tuyen Quang's supporters rose to their feet, but Dương Thanh Bình was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tuyen Quang's Nguyễn Hoang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Tuyen Quang from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dương Thanh Bình in the 10th minute of the match. When Tuyen Quang's Dương Thanh Bình in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kon Tum's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Thanh's late challenge caught a Tuyen Quang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. When Dương Thanh Bình came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Tuyen Quang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dương Thanh Bình couldn't finish the play. When Huỳnh Tu fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tuyen Quang's protests and gave Huỳnh Tu a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Tuan Hoang saved Kon Tum from getting behind. Lâm Lien hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. If Phan Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Hoang made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Phan Loc sent off a good shot on target. Tuyen Quang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dương Thanh Bình was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Hoang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Tran's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When Kon Tum's Nguyễn Tran in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tuyen Quang's goalie prevented a goal.
Nguyễn Cong Vinh took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Tuan Hoang. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Nguyễn Thanh kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dương Thanh Bình, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phan Loc charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phan Loc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Cong Vinhs short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Nguyễn Tuan Hoang to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Nguyễn Cong Vinh came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Tuyen Quang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Cong Vinh couldn't finish the play. After 70 minutes of play, Kon Tum's Nguyễn Tran made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Hoang was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Nguyễn Cong Vinh managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 95th minute of the match Lê Tuyet shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Hoang showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nguyễn Cong Vinh struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tuyen Quang. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tuyen Quang had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
