After a defensive mix-up in Phuoc Tich's zone, Võ Thuy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoàng Thuy came out of the goal and Võ Thuy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Nguyễn Cuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 12th minute of play forced Phuoc Tich's goalkeeper Hoàng Thuy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Võ Thuy got free with Hoàng Thuy in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Phuoc Tich getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hoàng Tran hit a great ball. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Quang Thanh got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Nguyễn Quang Thanh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Quang Thanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Thuy having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Ba Ria-Vung Tau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Minh. If Nguyễn Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd match minute, Ba Ria-Vung Tau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Lien to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Quang Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Hoàng Thuy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Võ Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Võ Thuy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Thi Ngoc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Võ Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters rose to their feet, but Võ Thuy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hoàng Thuy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Võ Thuy in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hoàng Thuy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 60 minutes, Nguyễn Quang Thanh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Phuoc Tich getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Nguyễn Tho hit a great ball. Nguyễn Quang Thanh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phuc having to interfere. Nguyễn Phuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 76th minute of play. Nguyễn Cuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phuc having to interfere. The supporters of Ba Ria-Vung Tau booed when Phuoc Tich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Cuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hồ Thanh Bình took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hoàng Thuy. Phuoc Tich's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 90 played minutes Phuoc Tich got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Tran. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
