Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh started the match with the kick off. Hồ Tho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Quang Thanh's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Trần Loc recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Phuc. Trần Loc showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hồ Tho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 17th minute of play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hồ Tho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mui Ne's zone, Nguyễn Quang Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hồ Tho came out of the goal and Nguyễn Quang Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Mui Ne booed when Ba Ria-Vung Tau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Dinh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Loc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Phuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Quang Thanh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hồ Tho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Mui Ne getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Trần Loc hit a great ball. Hồ Thanh Bình took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hồ Tho. Mui Ne's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 40th minute of play forced Mui Ne's goalkeeper Hồ Tho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Mui Ne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Loc to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mui Ne's Trần Loc got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute of the match Hồ Thanh Bình sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hồ Tho skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Nguyễn Quang Thanh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hồ Tho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hồ Tho saved Mui Ne from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Trần Loc to make the kick off. Mui Ne's Huỳnh Anh Hung took a good shot, in the 56th minute, which hit the crossbar above Nguyễn Phuc's head, and flew over the goal. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Mui Ne. Mui Ne's Trần Loc pulled a muscle in his leg after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Anh Hung struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Nguyễn Phuc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mui Ne. After a defensive mix-up in Mui Ne's zone, Nguyễn Quang Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hồ Tho came out of the goal and Nguyễn Quang Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 1-1 became the score in the 67th minute when Nguyễn Quang Thanh elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With his leg Hồ Tho managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Võ Thuy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Võ Thuy put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Hồ Tho. In the 77th minute of the match, Nguyễn Quang Thanh tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hồ Tho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nguyễn Quang Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hồ Tho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 84 in the game by Nguyễn Quang Thanh from a close distance when the talented Hồ Tho managed to make a qualified save. Mui Ne's players were relieved. With a little luck, Mui Ne's Hồ Tho got control of the ball when Võ Thuy tried to sneak it across the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Mui Ne's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Quang Thanh came free, but Hồ Tho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nguyễn Quang Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hồ Tho saved Mui Ne from getting behind. After 95 played minutes Nguyễn Quang Thanh rounded Mui Ne's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Ba Ria-Vung Tau left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mui Ne.
